The Thirteen-Tier Pipeline

Data flows from content creation through governance in a structured pipeline. Each tier is responsible for a distinct phase of the adaptive intelligence lifecycle.

Tier 1

Foundational

Two cross-cutting clusters that the rest of the portfolio builds upon: the knowledge-space engine itself (Airframe, which also spans Infrastructure) and cross-domain intelligence (Crosswinds, which also spans Validation). They are foundational because every downstream tier depends on that shared space and on the mappings that connect related subjects to one another.

Tier 2

Content Creation

The platform ingests domain specifications from subject-matter experts and builds structured, validated course content from them. The Airspace cluster covers that synthesis, the bootstrapping of subjects it has never seen, scope-disciplined authoring, assessment material generated in many formats from one source, and provisioning a course directly against a supplied syllabus.

Tier 3

Infrastructure

The underlying platform evolves over time. This tier ensures that upgrades and scaling events preserve all accumulated state without data loss, and that a node brought back up reaches full service quickly rather than rebuilding from scratch. Versioning, replication, and restore are part of the Airframe cluster (which also serves the Foundational tier with the engine itself).

Tier 4

Entity Onboarding

New users are positioned accurately from their first interaction. The Preflight cluster removes the cold-start problem using credentials, prior assessments, comparison against similar learners, and self-reported experience — and places learners who join a course mid-stream at the point they have actually reached.

Tier 5

Observation

Every interaction generates structured signals. The Avionics cluster captures performance evidence across modalities, reads the approach a learner took rather than only their score, detects engagement and overload, identifies accounts gaming the assessment, groups recurring failure patterns so content faults surface on their own, and houses the instrumentation suite that also serves the Adaptation, Social, and Transparency tiers.

Tier 6

Planning

Observation signals drive forward-looking optimization. The Navigator cluster models where a learner is heading, plans the curriculum in well-timed short interventions, forecasts readiness with confidence intervals attached, and coordinates a single plan across several credentials at once so overlapping material is credited rather than repeated.

Tier 7

Adaptation

The adaptation tier decides what to evaluate next and when proficiency has been genuinely demonstrated. It targets the most informative interactions, calibrates uncertainty in real time, and signals readiness with confidence rather than guesswork. That capability lives within the Avionics instrumentation suite.

Tier 8

Validation

The validation tier continuously stress-tests the engine’s own proficiency predictions and the quality gates behind them, surfacing miscalibration in hours rather than months and before it reaches real users. Validation gates predictions before they ever reach Delivery. It is part of the Crosswinds cluster.

Tier 9

Delivery

Plans materialize through three complementary delivery clusters. FlightDeck chooses activity formats and composes sessions — including hands-on work verified against a live environment, handwritten and drawn input marked on the device, sessions that survive losing connectivity, and a verified accessible equivalent for every format. Copilot delivers conversational and interview-style interactions. Contrail scores the responses produced through both surfaces, from written answers marked idea by idea to pinpointing where multi-stage reasoning first went wrong.

Tier 10

Social

Cohort intelligence enables group-aware learning. The platform forms complementary study groups, coordinates collaborative activities, and provides privacy-preserving cohort analytics. Cohort intelligence is part of the broader Avionics instrumentation suite.

Tier 11

Transparency

Every system decision is explainable. The transparency tier generates human-readable rationales that adapt in detail and complexity to the audience. Explainability and decision tracing are part of the Avionics instrumentation suite.

Tier 12

Governance

Policy constraints and organizational rules operate across all tiers. Sentinel gates every consequential action against jurisdictional, clearance, and safety-critical rules, keeps an audit trail that cannot be rewritten, and makes assessment material traceable so leaks can be attributed. BlackBox enables federated multi-node deployments where each sovereign node holds its own learner data, only privacy-preserving aggregates cross the boundary, and a learner can prove mastery to an outside party without surrendering their record.

Tier 13

Specialized

The Embodied cluster extends the platform to physical skill acquisition for autonomous agents and robotic systems, rehearsing curricula in simulation before real-world deployment and holding the whole loop inside enforced safety constraints.
